In mastering, the goal is to balance the EQ and the level. There are many tools now, but the point is to make the definitive version of your mixes that all copies are made from and distributed.
I use any combination of analog gear with Wavelab Pro for metering and processing. Every file format you request can be generated, should it be CD, DDP, WAV, mp3, and so on.
I can master one song as you go. If you need to get your finished album prepared for CD or digital distribution, then it's better to do those all at once. Submitted metadata will be applied. $75/hr
